Subscription Fees

The Orion’s Quest Program is available to middle and high school students and their teachers at a nominal cost.  The $150 program fees for the 2006-2007 school year include a one time, non-refundable, registration fee of $50.00 per teacher, and a program participation fee of $100.00 per school*.  The program participation fee includes, required materials and equipment, curriculum and data recording material, and the assignment of a private password protected space on the Orion’s Quest website.

While the length of a mission may vary, a typical mission would be a two semester program including a first semester “pre-flight” phase in preparation for the second semester “on-station” or research phase.

*The “Program Participation Fee” is required each year and may vary from mission to mission as necessary for Orion’s Quest to address the specific mission requirements.

Program Setup
The Cluster Classroom setup (Underdevelopment)

Each school will be assigned to a group called a “Cluster”. Clusters are made up of either middle schools or high schools and will reflect the wide variance of schools throughout the program including:

• Geographic location
• Mixture of urban, suburban, or rural settings

Schools within the Cluster will need to develop an effective communication network and create a working organization in order maximize the OQ experience. This will be necessary to effectively share data and information within the cluster.
